That is good, because we don't need people pitying us or fretting over our every move. But it's also bad, because people don't realize just how much work it takes to live life with diabetes.

Very well said my friend.Scott K. I have knitting friends who see my diabetes tweets or FB posts or read my D-Blog, and they say things like "I admire how you are so positive although you struggle every day with diabetes" or "I'm so sorry you have to live like this, I will pray for you". And my first thought is to respond by saying it's not that bad and I'm fine, and youKarenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03836215891806148229noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5602938156779787139.post-34428936847684656032011-03-14T17:02:18.894-05:002011-03-14T17:02:18.894-05:00I just drafted a similar post but more related to ...I just drafted a similar post but more related to Twitter. Allison was the first person to follow my "personal" twitter and I was okay with it, but now a few more DOC people have found me and I'm not sure how I feel. Diabetes is a huge part of my life, but it doesn't make up what I tweet about or Facebook about and I'm not sure if it should either. The thing that is even more difficult than coping with diabetes 24/7....read: relentless....is coping with people who just don't understand....or the people you love that keep being hurt over the struggle they see you go through. I just don't know....but I'm SO THANKFUL for my D friends! I have 2 FB accounts and 2 blogs...almost as if I feel like I need to give people a choice of which part of me they'd like to have in their lives.
